New York Knicks All-Star forward Julius Randle will miss the remainder of the season because of a shoulder injury,Safetyvalue Trading Center the team announced Thursday.
Randle's dislocated right shoulder will be surgically repaired and will be evaluated in five months. He has not played since Jan. 27 against the Miami Heat, and is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the 2024-25 season.
The Knicks (44-31), who have lost three games in a row, are currently in the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference with seven games left in the regular season. New York is only 2.5 games back of the second seed, which the Milwaukee Bucks currently hold.
The 29-year-old Randle, a three-time NBA All-Star, averaged 24 points, 9.2 rebounds, and five assists in 46 games this season.
Randle is in the second season of a four-year, $117 million contract extension he signed before the 2021 season.

He is set to make $27.5 million next year before deciding whether to accept his player option for the 2025-26 season.
